Three school administrators will cover more than one school this year, but will earn no additional pay.
Interim Superintendent James Scully said a plan for schools to share administrators wasn't done to save money, but to ensure a fair distribution of students among Haverhill schools' relatively small administrative staff.
"What I tried to do this year is have responsibility for the schools," Scully said. "I tried to get things consistent."
Most principals and assistant principals will each be responsible for about 700 students.
Two principals — Toni Donais and Dorothy Flaherty — will split their duties between multiple schools, as will assistant principal Timothy Maroney.
Donais will cover the Whittier, Crowell and Walnut Square schools.
Flaherty will lead Hunking and Greenleaf.
Maroney will help run the Consentino, Crowell, Greenleaf and Walnut Square schools.
Scully said the district has shared administrators among schools for years.
