Annual golf tournament planned: The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Haverhill will hold its fifth annual golf tournament on Aug. 5 at the Haverhill Country Club. A shotgun start is at 1 p.m. Special guest is Eric Lastowka, the RE/MAX World Long Drive Senior Champion. Tourney fees are $200 per player and $800 per foursome. Post-tourney dinner is $50 per person. Sponsorships and tee signs are available. The event will also include awards and a silent auction. Artists and artisans sought: The Haverhill Cultural Council will hold its Arts and Crafts Faire at the River Ruckus Festival on Sept. 7. The venue is expected to attract a crowd of over 5,000. Organizers are seeking applicants specializing in original fine art and photography, high quality handmade artisan crafts and jewelry, and up-cycled items and architectural salvage, including jewelry using vintage components. The Arts and Crafts Faire will be open from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 90 Washington St., the center of the River Ruckus festivities. Applications for the venue are due by Aug. 3. Volunteers needed for SHINE program: The SHINE (Serving the Health Information Needs of Elders) program is looking for Haverhill residents to help Medicare beneficiaries in the community understand the Medicare system. You can become a SHINE counselor and help Medicare beneficiaries understand their Medicare benefits and options.
