This is the greatest country. Now, our country has some serious issues facing her. Over the past years, the national debt has exploded, jobs have been disappearing, various financial bubbles have taken money from our checkbook and many of our elected officials simply do not serve with integrity and principle. As Americans, it is time to get involved.
Our country is resilient; we simply need to elect persons of honor — citizen patriots. We need to face the challenges, make tough decisions and solve them for the good of our children.
Each child in America owes a staggering $300,000 in unfunded liability due to the national debt. We must stop spending; we cannot burden our children and steal their future. And what does Congress do?
We need jobs. Government must get out of the way and let the private sector grow. Government must cut taxes, lower spending, eliminate regulations and reduce the massive bureaucracy. And what does Congress do?
We need a new energy policy to grow the economy, using all available sources. And what does Congress do?
Our Congress votes for cap and trade in the name of the environment, knowing that the legislation will destroy good jobs and our way of life.
We are in a war. There are groups that want to kill us for being Americans, yet our Congress refuses to use words that adequately describe the problem. Our borders are in turmoil, yet our government will not enforce basic immigration laws.
And Niki Tsongas is a member of Congress. We need to elect someone who will listen to the people and do the right thing.
I am Tom Weaver, and I am asking for your consideration and vote.
As a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and a former Officer in the U.S. Navy, I understand principle and service to the country. I understand the need for national defense, as I have lived it.
As a 31-year resident, voter and participant, I have demonstrated my commitment to the 5th District. As an Eagle Scout, I know the importance of service to the community.
As a 25-year owner of a small manufacturing business, I understand how to create private sector jobs, meet payroll and pay taxes. We must return certainty and normality. The government cannot create jobs.
As a nuclear engineer and MIT graduate, I know clean energy and understand the need to be energy independent.
Having designed and installed over 300 wastewater treatment systems throughout the country, I understand good environmental programs, versus intrusive mandates.
We are at a crossroads. I believe that we must empower the citizen, not the government. Niki believes in government. I believe that my articulated message, experience and resume, with a little bit of humor, will inspire others in Congress to act. Niki believes in following orders. I believe in a grassroots movement that unites the base, the independent and the Democrat voters. Niki believes in Nancy, Harry and Barack.
