The four Republican candidates for Massachusetts' 5th District congressional seat — Andover's Bob Shapiro, Westford's Tom Weaver, Carlisle's Jon Golnik and Haverhill's Sam Meas — have each submitted statements describing their qualifications and explaining why they deserve voters' support in Tuesday's primary election.
The winner of this race will challenge incumbent Congresswoman Niki Tsongas of Lowell.
Haverhill is one of 29 communities in the 5th Congressional District, which ranges over three counties.
