Authors Expo planned: The next New England Authors Expo presented by Pear Tree Publishing in Bradford will be held on July 31 from 4 to 9 p.m. at the Danversport Yacht Club in Danvers. This event is open to the public and free. Exhibitor set-up starts at 10 a.m. This expo is a grassroots event intended to promote local New England authors and illustrators. Many authors, illustrators, publishers, writer’s groups, schools and businesses regularly attend. The event also has a growing list of celebrities that attend and is an opportunity to network as well as buy and sell books. Sponsorship opportunities are available. Farmers Market coupons for senior citizens: Farmers Market coupons will be available for distribution to qualified seniors who are at least 60 years old at the Council on Aging, 10 Welcome St., on Aug. 7. Seniors must bring an identification that shows date of birth and address and proof that they receive one of the following: Supplementary Social Security Income (SSI), Section 8 Housing, energy assistance or Medicaid. Residents of subsidized housing facilities may qualify for the vouchers by providing the Haverhill Council on Aging with a letter from their property manager. Past Finders summer camp offered: The Past Finders summer program at the Buttonwoods Museum will present "Digging into Archaeology" from Aug. 6 to 9, featuring a mock dig. Kids will try cross-mending, dating and researching objects to reconstruct the lives of the original owners. Visits to an archaeological site or museum are included. Cost is $160. Morning drop-off begins at 9 a.m. and pick up is at 4 p.m. The program is for children in grades one to seven and is designed to teach children about history through hands-on activities, creative arts projects and field trips.
