Armenian Martyrs Day observance April 28: Music through the ages will be the focal point of a 98th memorial observance marking Armenian Martyrs’ Day on April 28 in the Merrimack Valley. The commemoration will take place at 3 p.m. at North Andover High School. Titled, “Weaving Armenia’s Story Through Music,” the program will be enriched by three gifted New England soloists: Soprano Knarik Nerkararyan, mezzo soprano Victoria Avetisyan, and tenor Yeghishe Manucharyan accompanied by pianist Levon Hovsepian. A memorial service will be celebrated by pastors from different churches throughout the Merrimack Valley, accompanied by a combined choir led by Paul Ketchoyian, accompanied by Arsen Russian. Admission is complimentary and open to the public. A reception will follow in the school cafeteria.

Annual Fun Run and Walk: St. Joseph School of All Saints Parish will hold its fourth annual 5-K Run and 1.5-mile Fun Run and Walk on April 28 at 12:30 p.m., beginning at the school, 56 Oak Terrace. Choose your course: 5K looping the bridges over the Merrimack River or 1.5 mile fun run and walk through downtown Haverhill. Free t-shirts will be given to the first 200 registrants and free lunch will be provided to all participants. Prizes will be awarded to top male and female finishers in all categories. :Poetry night at public library: The public library will celebrate National Poetry Month with a night of reading, sharing and discussion of all things poetry on April 30 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Meet local poets and ask their advice about getting published. Free seminar on vein treatments: Sue Cullen Personal Training Studio will host a free educational and informational medical seminar focusing on spider vein treatments of the legs and face including sclerotherapy and veinwave on April 30 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. This program is free to attend and will be presented by Dr. John K. Mallen, plastic and reconstructive surgeon, cosmetic surgery, and Gina Gianetti, licensed aesthetician. Reservations are requested by calling 978-478-8241 or by email to Sue@suecullenptstudio.com.
