Firefighting museum to unveil child-oriented exhibit


Concert in Byfield on tap: Local musicians Greta Schafer, Chris Marino and Billy Guilty will perform on April 26 at the Byfield Community Arts Center. This event is a fundraiser for the arts center. Doors open at 7 p.m. There will also be silent auction items featuring gift certificates from local businesses, along with sporting goods, sports memorabilia, and items from regional artisans as well as antiques. The Cat Cafe will be serving beer, wine, soft drinks and snacks throughout the evening. Admission is $15 at the door. The Byfield Community Arts Center is located at 7 Central St., Byfield.

Spinelli Strong fundraiser on tap: Friends and family of Anthony Spinelli of Haverhill will hold a fundraiser on April 27 from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Gaythorne Hall, 462 Broadway, Methuen.

Spinelli, 21, was involved in a near fatal accident on Oct. 19, 2013, that resulted in the loss of both of his legs. Money raised will help him obtain high-tech prosthetic legs. This event is open to the public and will include a hot and cold buffet, desserts, refreshments and a cash bar. Music is by DJ Ralphie B and singer/guitarist Tom Towler. Raffle items include home goods, Red Sox tickets, a flat screen television, one-week stays at Salisbury beach and Mount Sunapee, teeth whitening treatment, tee time for four at the Atkinson Country Club, lottery scratch tickets, liquor baskets, restaurant and store gift certificates, ceramic tile installation and materials valued at $1,000 and more.

Talk by veteran music designer/producer: Seasoned studio musician and music designer and producer Duncan Watt of Durham, N.H., will speak at Northern Essex Community College on April 28 at 1 p.m. in the Hartleb Technology Center (Room 220) on the college’s Haverhill campus, 100 Elliott St.
