Citizens Center hosts talk on National Parks

Last September, semi-retired Gazette reporter and photographer Tom Vartabedian and his wife toured six national parks — covering 2,100 miles with and without an organized tour.

At the end of the journey, Vartabedian had several majestic photos and quite a story.

He will bring those photos and that story to the Citizens Center Tuesday for a brief presentation on his trip and the wonders of America’s parks.

“It was a revelation, because we had never visited any of them,” Vartabedian said. “After we retired, were so intent on visiting Europe — we never realized how amazing this country is.”

The visual and oral presentation will be followed with a brief question and answer session.
