Police Summer Camp: Applications for the Haverhill Police Department's GREAT/DARE Days summer camp will be available beginning June 6 and can be picked up in the lobby of the Police Station, 40 Bailey Blvd. The camp, held at Consentino Middle School, is free to Haverhill children ages 8 to 11 and runs weekdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., July 9 through Aug. 17. The camp consists of scheduled recreational activities, guest speakers and field trips. Parents/guardians of children planning to participate in this program will be asked to fill out a permission slip, including medical information, and return it to the Haverhill Police Department no later than June 29. Parents/Guardians will need to provide a snack and lunch for their child. Police ask that parents arrange for their children's transportation and inform them of those arrangements so that campers are not left stranded at the end of the day. Campers who actively participate in all activities on a daily basis and attend camp on a regular basis will be considered for field trips throughout the summer.
Pizza Night Fundraiser: The Haverhill Police Department will once again be sponsoring the GREAT/DARE Days summer youth camp program. The camp is free to Haverhill children and police are in the process of finalizing the dates, times and the camp schedule. To help pay for the program, police will hold pizza night fundraisers June 7 and June 14 from 4 to 9 p.m. at Papa Gino's, 782 River St. The restaurant will donate up to 20 percent of sales to the program. There will be both dine-in and carry out options but delivery is excluded. Coupons for both nights will be distributed to all the Haverhill middle schools, will be posted on the Consentino Middle School website, in the lobby of the police station at 40 Bailey Blvd. and inside Papa Gino's on the days of the events.
