No Farms No Food! Local farmers are using that slogan as they push for residents to buy food locally during the holidays. Farmer Marlene Stasinos said her farm is raising turkeys for holiday meals. Do doubt other local farmers are doing the same in hopes of cashing in this holiday season to keep their operations going.

These kids need coaches: St. Joseph’s School is looking for coaches for two student basketball teams. They need a coach for the seventh- and eighth-grade girls team and also a coach for the sixth-grade boys team. Anyone interested is asked to email bmartin@kidzgame.com.

Making NECC proud: Two Northern Essex Community College employees received Merrimack Valley Business Magazine’s “40 under 40” awards recently, and the school could not be prouder. NECC professor Mike Cross of Atkinson and Analuz Garcia of Lawrence, NECC’s coordinator of student activities and engagement, were among the honorees at a luncheon at the college.

Partnership spanning the ocean: Local college students havea chance to travel while they study. Two local schools — Northern Essex Community College and Middlesex Community College — have signed an international education agreement with Bath Spa University in Bath, England. It allows students to complete either a semester abroad or transfer into a bachelor’s degree program.
