They've got spirit ... how about you?

Cheerleading is a winter program open to all members of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Haverhill.

Starting in November and running through February, participants learn various 15 and 30 second cheers and movements to perform during Minor basketball games on Saturdays.

Each age group has its own squad. Kids ages 6 and 7 are on the Junior JV squad and cheer for the first minor basketball game on Saturday mornings. The kids age 8 and 9 are on the JV squad and cheer for the second minor basketball game on Saturday mornings.

The kids age 10, 11 and 12 are on the Varsity squad and cheer for the last minor basketball game on Saturday mornings.

To prepare for these games, squads have practices every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

The Cheerleading Program has come a long way with approximately 8 to 12 girls on each squad. The teams are sponsored by the Crows Nest Pub and Grill in Plaistow, N.H., and are coached by Cassandra Falcon and Deb Card.
