JV League Floor Hockey makeup game, Week 6

Don Wilson made a huge comeback from last place and won in an overtime shootout period against the first place team, AZ Landscaping. It was a shutout the entire game, with both teams playing great defensive. In the overtime shootout, Daniel Smith scored the goal for the victory. Early in the season, Don Wilson had a difficult time getting a win, but now is tied for second place with a 4-3 record. AZ Landscaping is in first place with a 5-2 record.

No Major League Floor Hockey was played due to early school release.

Minor League Basketball Week 8

Jacqueline’s Grocery Store walked away tied for first place after beating the last place team, Richdale Convenience Store. Cristian Ovalles scored 16 points to secure the win for Jacqueline’s Grocery Store. Enrique Alvarado scored a season high 10 points for Richdale Convenience Store, but it wasn’t enough. Jacqueline’s Grocery Store is now tied for first place with a 5-3 record. Richdale Convenience Store has a 1-7 record.

Carlos Rivera played a huge role with 22 points in Shoe City Hardware’s victory over Fireside Restaurant & Pub. The two teams are now tied for first place with records of 5 wins and 3 losses. Fireside Restaurant & Pub showed great teamwork and communication, but it wasn’t enough to win the game.

Early Contractors took the win over The Common 1854. Early Contractors started the season off with three consecutive losses, but is now tied for first place. Ryan Whitcomb stepped up as point guard for Early Contractors, and has shown great ball movement. Early Contractors held on late in the close game and the final score was 33-31.

Major League Basketball Week 8

Destiny’s Spanish Market got back on track with a huge victory over JDR’s Auto/Welding & Towing. Stephon Allen showed great ball movement with his teammates, and also scored 28 points in the victory. Michael Whitcomb scored 16 points and Ken Plante scored 19 points for JDR’s Auto/Welding & Towing, but it wasn’t enough for the victory. Both teams are now tied for second place with records of 3 wins and 5 losses.

High Street Market took out Early Contractors to hold onto first place. Navin Cruz and Brendyn Downer showed excellent teamwork in the showdown for High Street Market. Early Contractors gave it their all, but High Street Market was victorious. High Street Market has a 7-1 record and Early Contractors is tied for second place with a 3-5 record.
