Niki Tsongas enjoyed some of the finest pasta dishes that Joseph's has to offer when she toured the factory on Primrose Street. Tsongas had porcini sechetti (purse) with a Gorgonzola cream sauce as well as lobster ravioli with creamy marinara, potato gnocchi with brown butter and fried capers and a spinach salad with warm pancetta vinaigrette. Tsongas toured the factory this week as part of the company's participation in the Merrimack Valley Chamber of Commerce's Clean Energy Program.
The reconstruction of Route 125 in Bradford has resulted in some utility poles being relocated. The poles are now in the middle of the sidewalk, causing an issue for walkers, bikers and runners.
At the opening of the iSchool at Haverhill High last week, Superintendent James Scully was in a jovial mood and made some cracks about Mayor James Fiorentini. When Fiorentini cut the ribbon to mark the opening of the iSchool, Scully quipped that Fiorentini is used to cutting budgets, not ribbons.
The Northern Essex Community College baseball team may just be the hottest junior college team in the country. The Knights have a 20-game winning streak and will be taking part in the Division 3 Junior College World Series this week. Best of luck to them as they look to bring a title to Haverhill.
The Lamplighter spotted Haverhill High quarterback Tommy Morgan at the Rockingham Mall recently. Morgan waved hello to the Lamplighter before going on his way.
