Elders offered savings at farmers market

Here are other events and activities available to Haverhill’s senior citizens:

Trip to see treasure exhibit: The Council on Aging is planning a trip to the Peabody Essex Museum to see the “Faberge Revealed” exhibit on Aug. 21.

The name Faberge is synonymous with refined craftsmanship, jeweled luxury and the Russian imperial family. More than 230 treasures from the late 19th and early 20 centuries are featured. Call 978-374-2390, ext.11, for details.

Helping rescue workers enter homes: You can make entrance to your home convenient for fire and ambulance service with no damage to the house.

Haverhill residents can have a lock box attached to the outside of their house or apartment. For additional information, contact Fire Department Deputy LaLiberty at 978-373-8460 or Joel Berg at 978-374-2390, ext. 38.

Golf instructions: A golf clinic has begun at Garrison Golf Course, 660 Hilldale Ave.

The clinic is held on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. There is also a ladies golf clinic on Mondays at 9 a.m. Contact Ted Murphy at Garrison Golf Course at 978-374-9380 with questions.

Trip to Tanglewood, Berkshires: The Council on Aging is offering an overnight trip to Tanglewood and the Berkshires Aug. 6 and 7.

The trip includes deluxe motor coach transportation, one-night hotel stay at the Comfort Inn in Pittsfield, full course luncheon, BSO concert, and admission to Ventfort Hall and the Norman Rockwell Museum. Cost is $299 per person, double occupancy.

Garden Club seeks members: The Haverhill Garden Club is looking for new members.

Membership includes 10 presentations by horticultural experts. Contact Carol Sobel at 978-377-0106 for additional information.

Doo Wop musical performance: The Corvettes Doo Wop Revue will be held at Venus de Milo in Swansea on Sept. 5.

This performance is dedicated to preserving and performing the music of the 1950s Doo Wop era. Tickets are $59 per person and include transportation, luncheon and performance.

Trip to the play ‘West Side Story’: The Council on Aging plans a trip to the Ogunquit Playhouse to see “West Side Story” on Sept. 15.
