Academic Achievers: Haverhill and Bradford students excel on campus

Catherine Bergholm, a resident of Haverhill, has been named to the Dean's List for the fall semester at Mount Ida College in Newton, Mass.

Meghan Elizabeth Hardiman, a member of the class of 2012 at Colby-Sawyer College, was named to the Dean's List for the 2009 fall semester. She is a psychology major from Haverhill.

Erica Bryant, a resident of Bradford, was named to the Dean's List at Fairfield University for the fall 2009 semester. She is a senior studying in the College of Arts and Sciences.

The following Bradford and Haverhill residents were named to the Dean's List for the fall semester at the University of Connecticut: Danielle Honig, Colleen Maroney, and Peter Moccia.

Meredith Ross, a junior from Haverhill, received second honors for the second quarter at Bishop Fenwick High School.

Warren T. Brown of Haverhill, has been awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology from Kaplan University. Brown's accomplishment was celebrated during a live graduation ceremony on Jan. 30 in Miami with General Colin Powell as the commencement speaker. The Kaplan University winter 2010 class saw more than 3,300 students earn their associate's, bachelor's or master's degrees as well as professional certificates, completely online.

Patrick O'Neil, a first-year student at the College of the Holy Cross, has been named to the Dean's List for the first semester of the 2009-2010 academic year. He is the son of John and Barbara O'Neil of Bradford. He majors in biology.

Hailey Brignac, a resident of Haverhill, was named to the Dean's List for the fall 2009 semester at Roger Williams University.

Timothy Duty of Haverhill, son of Donald Lee Duty of Haverhill and Karlyn Jane Duty of Sunset Beach, NC, was named to the honor list for the fall 2009 semester at Oxford College, the two-year liberal arts division of Emory University located in Oxford, Georgia.

Riley Dunn, daughter of Thomas and Maureen Dunn of Bradford, was named to the Dean's List at Ithaca College's School of Health Sciences and Human Performance for the fall 2009 semester.

These Haverhill and Bradford residents were named to the Dean's List at Northeastern University for the fall 2009 semester: Andrew Buckley, architecture; Alexandria Delrosso, environmental science; Matthew Dolloff, journalism; Monica Hubbard, nursing; Carolina Marion, communication studies; Sarah Martin, criminal justice; Alicia Picard, pharmacy; Matthew Spofford, engineering undeclared; Nicole St. Germain, communication studies; Robert Taylor, communication studies; Frank Xia, civil engineering; and Katelyn Zahler, criminal justice.

Dina Al-Ziab, a resident of Haverhill, has been named to the Fall 2009 Champlain College Dean's List. Al-Ziab is majoring in professional writing. She is the daughter of Eugenia and Hussein Al-Ziab.

Andrew Moscariello, son of Mr. Thoimas Moscariello and Ms. Theresa Collins of Haverhill, a freshman majoring in Chemical engineering, was named to the Worcester Polytechnic Institute Dean's List for academic excellence for the fall 2009 semester.

The criteria for the WPI dean's list differ from most other universities, as WPI does not compute a grade point average, but rather defines the dean's list by the amount of work completed at the A level in courses and projects.

Patricia A. Snow of Haverhill earned an associate degree in nursing at Excelsior College in Albany, N.Y.

These local students were named to the Bryant University dean's list: Nicole Latulippe of Bradford, a senior marketing major, and Haley Onofaro of Haverhill, a freshman majoring in Business Administration.

Anna-Kay Cunningham of Haverhill was among the American International College students recognized for academic achivement by having their names placed on the spring 2009 dean's list at the Springfield school. Cunningham is a senior majoring in management.

Lindsay Reid of Haverhill, a junior at Gettysburg College, has been placed the Deans' Honor List for outstanding academic achievement in the fall 2009 semester. Founded in 1832, Gettysburg College is a four-year residential college of liberal arts and sciences, located adjacent to the Gettysburg National Military Park in Pennsylvania.

Seventy-eight Haverhill residents earned academic honors at Central Catholic High School for the first quarter of 2009-2010. Distinguished honors were given to: 12th-graders Michael Bryant, Vanessa Ciocca, and Angelica Nguyen; 11th-grader Tori Rosenau; 10th-graders Leah Cabeceiras and Brianna MacGregor; and ninth-graders Sean Emery and Tiffany Truong. High honors were given to: 12th-graders Victoria Dallon, Maria Guidi, Benjamin Lewis, and Spencer Stack; 11th-graders Amanda Hashem, Andrew Montecalvo, and Erick Whitton; and 10th-graders Christina Accardi, Lillian Cryan, Matthew Fenlon, and Catherine Xenakis. Honors were given to: 12th-graders Jacqueline Barone, Christopher Berganti, Andrew Butterworth, Jason Farr, Christopher Navien, Matthew Pelletier, Taylor Roy, Bianca Sacco, Michael Sexton, Colleen Shea, Steven Spicer, and Sarah Sullivan; 11th-graders Timothy Bamford, Michael Barbone, Brooke Basiliere, William Benson, Marissa Botting, Megan Calvo, Katelyn Connerty, Simon Dellea, Matthew Doiron, Ryan Forgione, Aja Hardy, Elizabeth Lyons, Nicholas Morris, Katherine Obert, Jessica Ouellette, Sarah Richardson, Andrew Rourk, Daniel Shields, Matthew Spellman, Brendan Stolarz, Laura Tretter, and Beverly Wang; 10th-graders Taylor Bronson, Chelsea Carver, Patrick Crowley, Jeremy Garneau, Nicholas Golden, Michele Lescarbeau, Elena Messina, Nicholas Pagliarulo, Connor Perry, Brian Sullivan, and Hunter Tuck; and ninth-graders Megan Ciabotti, Rosalie Cryan, Ross Davis, Cayley Door, Emily Fitzmeyer, Sean Kennedy, Kaliopi Konomi, Justin Lucciano, Christine Nguyen, Emily Riddle, Cody Sullivan, Benjamin Tavitian, and Anne Taylor.

Katherine McCall of Bradford, a senior finance major, was named to the 2009 fall semester dean's list at the University of Delaware.
