Construction at Haverhill High School has forced the annual Sapienza Road Race to move its start and finish lines to the J.G. Whittier Middle School on Concord Avenue. The absence of the racers will be strange for residents of the Monument Street area, who are accustomed to the annual event. The race, run by the family of Haverhill High math teacher Anthony Sapienza, raises money for the scholarship fund that bears his name. The runners leave the starting line at 6:30 p.m.

Does the phrase "Global Warming" mean anything to you these days?
If Chief Alan DeNaro were to be offered, and accepts, the job of heading the Somerville police department, Haverhill Deputy chief Donald Thompson will have strong support to lead the department in this city.
If you see local financial planner and Team Haverhill member Tim Jordan pedaling around the city in coming days, he's getting in shape to bike 50 miles in the Cycle for Shelter fundraiser for Emmaus. The annual bike ride, which offers three trails of varying lengths, invites riders to collect pledges for the Haverhill-based agency that provides services to people who are homeless or in transition.
