HAVERHILL — Thelma L. (Berry) Spaulding, 80, of Haverhill, died Monday, April 7, 2008 at the Merrimack Valley Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Haverhill, she was the daughter of the late Norman H. and Helen L. (Tyning) Berry and lived here all of her life. She attended Haverhill public schools and was a 1945 graduate of Haverhill High School. Deciding on a career in cosmetology, she furthered her education at the Fazio Beauty Academy in Lawrence. Upon completion of her training, she went on to teach her trade at the academy for over 20 years. She owned and operated a salon in her home while raising her two young boys.

Robert E. Kimball Sr., 61; longtime construction worker

A Navy veteran, Robert E. Kimball Sr. worked most of his life as an independent contractor in the construction industry. He was employed by various companies in the Haverhill area, including Al Crepeau Construction, and Early and Son's. More recently, he was a partner in A & A Construction Co., retiring in the early 1990s due to illness.
