George J. Karambelas, 87


George J. Karambelas, 87, of Peabody and formerly of Haverhill, died Wednesday morning, April 4, at Renaissance Gardens, Brooksby Village, Peabody.

He was born in Haverhill, May 14, 1924 son of the late John and Evanthea (Jarvis) Karambelas and was educated in the Haverhill school system. He owned and operated the former Primrose Giant Value Supermarkets.

His survivors include his wife of 67 years, Constance (Terzis) Karambelas of Peabody, two daughters, Joan and her husband Vic Taylor of Boothbay, ME, Jean Karambelas of Boston, a granddaughter, Abby Eskin and her husband Zak Smith, a great granddaughter, Zoe Eskin and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Karambelas was also the brother of the late Arthur Karambelas and Peggy Giuvelis.

ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 7 in the Holy Apostles Sts. Peter & Paul Greek Orthodox Church. Burial was in Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill.
