U.S. Navy veteran Albert William Rogers-CWC II, born May, 23, 1920, died January 28, 2012 at Royal Vista Care Center, Ellensburg, WA.
He was born in West Newbury, MA, son of Charles S and Nina (Rowell) Rogers; attended area schools and worked for some time at Horn’s Shoe Co. in Haverhill. He retired from the Navy after 23 years, having served during World War II and the Korean War.
Albert and his late wife of 57 years resided in Allyn, WA with their daughter Sandra and son Allen. He was an avid outdoorsman and was employed by Kent School District. When health declined he resided with Sandra, son-in-law Bob Ross and their children Joel and Carly until his move to the care center.
Albert was predeceased by his brothers Samuel, Clayton, sisters Olive (Rogers) and Ruth (Bill). Besides his family in Washington State he is survived by brother Alfred and sisters Marion (Whalen) and Elizabeth (Bill) and many nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Graveside services are planned for a later date in the Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent. Arrangements are by Steward and Williams Tribute Center, Ellensburg, WA.
