Haverhill — Elizabeth (Chilpyian) Arakelian, 90, of Haverhill died Wednesday evening, November 6, at Penacook Place Nursing Home, Haverhill.
She was born in Methuen, June 5, 1923, daughter of the late Daniel and Rose (maiden name) Chilpyian.
Educated in the Haverhill school system, Mrs. Arakelian graduated from Haverhill High School.
For several years she co-owned and operated drive in theaters in Haverhill and Salisbury and also wrote for The Eagle-Tribune and Haverhill Gazette.
She was the wife of the late Sarkes Arakelian who died in 1996, mother of the late Arthur D. “Butch” Arakelian and Harry “Skip” Arakelian and grandmother of the late Corey Arakelian.
Her survivors include a daughter-in-law, Mary Arakelian of Haverhill, a sister, Virginia Chilpyian of Andover, two grandchildren, Bruce and Poppy Arakelian and three great grandchildren.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her Funeral Service was held Wednesday at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. Burial was in Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill. Calling hours preceded the Funeral Service at the funeral home. Condolences to her family may be made at www.farmerfuneralhomes.com.
