St. Petersburg, Fl. — Gardella, Wesley (Buddy) passed away on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at Egret Cove Home in St. Petersburg Fl., where he had resided for the past 22 years. Buddy was born in Haverhill, the son of Joseph and Beatrice (Durgin) Gardella on May 15, 1933.
He attended St. James Schools. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served during the Korean Conflict. He worked for many years for the Lagasse Amusement Co. of Haverhill and later as a painter and holiday lighting installer in many cities and towns in and around Ma. He was a lifetime member of the Plaistow N.H. Fish and Game Club and also a lifetime member of the Crescent Yacht Club of Bradford, where he spent many happy years organizing and participating in their many activities, his favorites being the annual Children's Christmas Party, the annual Boat Parade, and the Special Olympics Fund Raiser. Buddy was the first recipient of the Yacht Club to be honored and presented with the Annual Tony Favara Award. In addition to his parents he was pre-deceased by his only sister Barbara Gardella of Lawrence Ma. He is survived by his daughter Barbara Gonzalez of Palm Bay Fl., three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren as well as several cousins. He is also survived by his partner of 26 years, Judith Churchman of St. Petersburg, Fl. and her two sons Charles ( Leigh ) Percival of Arlington, and Tim Percival of St.Petersburg, Fl. and their four children who loved him as their grandfather.
ARRANGEMENTS: Services were held in Fl. and will be held in the Spring in Haverhill, Ma. Donations in his memory may be made to the Crescent Yacht Club Children's Christmas Party. Arrangements in Fl. were handled by Florida Direct Cremation of St. Petersburg Fl.
