METHUEN — Eileen P. Powers, beloved daughter of Maurice and Mary Powers, formerly of Lawrence, died peacefully in her sleep at Penacook Place in Haverhill early Saturday morning, July 24, 2010. She would have been 90 years old in November.
Eileen was in essence, the second mother to the Madigan Family and their sons, Joseph, Robert, John, Gary, and Edmund Madigan. For over 30 years Eileen worked at the North Andover Branch of Western Electric until her retirement.
She maintained her home in Methuen and the focal point of many family get-togethers. Generous to a fault, soft spoken, and loving as only as she could be, Eileen became the center of the family since her siblings passed away.
She is survived by her nephews, Joseph, Robert and Gary Madigan, also Edmund, Robert, Jeannette and Mary Powers and countless nieces and nephews.
Eileen was predeceased by her brother, Edmund Powers of Dover, N.H.; sisters, Rita Powers Madigan, Marie Powers Ferrari; and her nephew, John Kevin Madigan of Boxford.
ARRANGEMENTS: Friends and family are invited to attend a grave side service on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
