Haverhill — John J. Francis, 81, of Bradford, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 25, at the Merrimack Valley Hospital, Haverhill.
He was born in Cambridge, June 1, 1932, son of the late John Francis and Ann Curran Francis.
During the Korean War he served in the United States Air Force.
Mr. Francis was employed, for a time, at Moors & Cabot, Boston, and, until his retirement was a 40 year employee of the US Securities and Exchange Commission, Boston, from where he retired in 1999 as an investigator.
His survivors include his wife of 52 years, Joan M. (Tassinari) Francis of Bradford, a son, John V. Francis and his wife Diana of Farmington, CT, a brother, Edward Francis, Sr. of Arlington, a sister, Marie Navin of Marlborough, a granddaughter, Grace E. Francis as well as several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: His Funeral was held Sept. 30, from the H.L. Farmer & Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 So. Main St., Bradford, followed by a Funeral Mass in Sacred Hearts Church, Bradford.
