Haverhill, MA — Adelena M. (LaPlante) (Ryan) Dolfe, 89, beloved wife of Joseph J. Dolfe Jr., died on Monday, June 3, in Haverhill.
Known by all as “Midge,” Mrs. Dolfe enjoyed knitting and crocheting, counted cross stitch, and also enjoyed reading, especially mystery novels. She was known for her ready laugh and hearty sense of humor.
She and her husband were married for 57 years.
Mrs. Dolfe leaves three sons and their spouses, Joseph J. Dolfe III and Robin LeBlanc of Kensington, N.H., David Dolfe and Glen Dolfe of Merrimac, Mass., and Gregg Ryan and Mary Ryan of Wilmington, Del. She also leaves several nieces and nephews; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; as well as two brothers, Alfred LaPlante and his wife, Ruby, and Richard LaPlante and his wife, Barbara.
She was the daughter of the late Alfred and Eva (DeBlois) LaPlante ,and the sister of the late Robert Laplante and his wife, Beverly. She also had a son Wayne Ryan.
ARRANGEMENTS: There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date at the convenience of the family. Instead of flowers, donations may be made to the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill. Arrangements are under the direction of the Paul C. Rogers Family-Scatamacchia Funeral Home, 334 Main St., Haverhill.
