Haverhill — Anna P. (Pananos) Gickas, 79, of Haverhill passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at Merrimack Valley Hospital.
She was born in Haverhill on Sept. 23, 1933, daughter of the late Nicholas and Lucy (Manganais) Pananos. Anna was an active member of Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church in Haverhill and the Philoptochos Society ELPIS. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend who loved her home and garden. She cared deeply for others and made new friends wherever she went. She was a lifelong resident of Haverhill, but her friendships reached far beyond.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, George J. Gickas; her daughter, Karen and her husband, Osamu Sekiguchi of Marblehead, Mass.; her son, John G. Gickas of Takasaki, Japan; her granddaughter, Reina Lucy Sekiguchi; her sisters, Frances Moutafis and Mary Ann Valhouli, both of Haverhill; as well as many nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her Funeral Service and visitation were held on Monday April 22 at the Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church, Haverhill. Interment followed in the Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill.
