West Newton — Helen S. Kalivas, of West Newton and formerly of Haverhill, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loved ones, on May 22, 2013.
She was born the youngest of three children to Nicholas and Eva (Ducacaros) Kalivas in Haverhill.
Helen was predeceased by her parents, her older sister, Thelma Economos, and her brother, Arthur Kalivas. She is survived by her niece, Sandra E. Hawrylo of Morristown, N.J.; god-daughter, Christina Eve O’Sullivan and her husband, James, of Mountain View, Calif.; niece, Elizabeth Anne Hawrylo and fiancé, Dez Fiedler, of San Francisco, Calif.; great-grandnephews, Nicholas and Lucas O’Sullivan; sister-in-law, Helen Kalivas of Dracut; and her most cherished best friend of almost 60 years, Dolores Manzi of Newton, Mass.
ARRANGEMENTS: At her request, funeral services were privately held at the Holy Apostles Sts. Peter & Paul Greek Orthodox Church in Haverhill on Saturday, May 25. Interment followed in the Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill. Arrangements were by the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Homes, Haverhill and Bradford.
