Sister Ann Marie Moynihan, CSJ (Sister John Baptista), a beloved member of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Boston for 56 years, died Thursday, March 29, 2012. Daughter of the late James R. and Elaine E. (Murphy) Moynihan. Survived by her loving sister, Kathleen Marino of Newton, New Hampshire, and her brothers, Daniel R. of Haverhill, MA, John P. of Plastow, New Hampshire, and William J. of Haverhill, MA. Sister Ann is also survived by four nieces, eight nephews, and many grandnieces and grandnephews. Formerly missioned as a teacher at St. Catherine, Norwood; Immaculate Conception, E. Weymouth; Immaculate Conception, Everett; St. Joseph, Amesbury; St. Agnes, Arlington; St. John, Boston North End; St. Columbkille, Brighton; Cathedral High School, Boston; as well as principal, teacher and campus minister at St. Clement, Somerville. Sister Ann also ministered as Director of Development for Schools in St. Clement elementary and high school. She was currently serving as Director of Mission Advancement for the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph, Brighton. Sister Ann was the Spiritual Advisor for the State of Massachusetts Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She was Treasurer and a Board Member of the Brighton Board of Trade.
Visiting hours at Holy Family Chapel, Sisters of St. Joseph Motherhouse, 637 Cambridge St., Brighton, Monday, April 2, 2012, 3:30-6:00 p.m. Vigil Service at 6:00 p.m. followed by the Funeral Mass. Prayers of Final Commendation on Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at 10:00 a.m., at Holy Family Chapel. Burial will follow at St. James Cemetery, 360 Primrose St., Haverhill, MA.
