Amesbury — Janet L. Madden, 72, of Amesbury, died on December 1, 2013, at the Amesbury Village in Amesbury. Janet was born in Lynn, Mass., on February 7, 1941, to the late Arthur D. and Mary (Bowker) Story.
Janet grew up in Swamscott and Danvers, then eventually settled down in Georgetown to raise her family. She graduated from Danvers High School, Beverly Hospital School of Nursing and Northern Essex Community College, where she earned her degree as a registered nurse.
Janet had worked as a charge nurse at the Haverhill Manor nursing home, with previous nursing duties at the Old Soldiers Home in Chelsea, Beverly Hospital, Danvers Hospital, and the former Hale Hopsital in Haverhill.
As a young girl, she loved to dance and travel to Boston and New York City with the ballet company. Her dancing and caring for others never stopped throughout her life. She loved the seashore and especially enjoyed going to Hampton Beach.
A quick wit and perky smile always made you feel at home and welcome.
