Haverhill, MA — Anna M. (Parenti) Grillo, 97, died Saturday, June 8, 2013, at the Hannah Duston Healthcare Center. She was born in Lawrence, May 14, 1916, and was the daughter of Salvatore and Marie (Cocchiaro) Parenti.
The things that Anna most enjoyed were her family, cooking, and listening to music. Anna was happiest in the presence of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved to cook her famous Italian dishes, and the TV Food Network provided her many hours of entertainment. Another great pleasure was listening to music and viewing all types of musical programing.
She was predeceased by her husband, Carmen P. Grillo, to whom she had been married over 60 years. Anna is survived by two daughters, Esther Metthe and her husband, Raymond Metthe, of Haverhill, Mary Faraci and her husband, Dr. Richard Faraci, of Newbury; one son, Peter Grillo and his companion, Janis Callan, of Haverhill; grandchildren, David Metthe, Joseph Metthe, Ann McDonough, Michael Faraci, Sarah Lynch, and Matthew Grillo; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Jordan, Samantha, Alexandra, Madelyn, Charlie, Caitlyn, Ben, and Leah; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at the Hannah Duston Healthcare Center for the care and kindness they provided during her final years.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours were held Tuesday, June 11, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Paul C. Rogers Family-Scatamacchia Funeral Home, 334 Main St., with services at 7 p.m., during calling hours. Burial will be private.
