Richard T. “Homer” “Ted” Sanders, 68, passed away on February 4, 2012 at Hannah Duston Healthcare.
Born in Madbury, NH on April 29, 1943, he was the son of the late Lloyd W. and Edith C. (Bean) Sanders.
Ted was educated in Haverhill. He worked many years as a heavy equipment operator, truck and bus driver for several companies including; Crepeau Construction, Senter Trucking, Burgess Paper, Appleyard’s, J.P. Noonan Transportation and Coppola Bus Co. Ted’s passion was trains, and enjoyed all aspects to include modeling, books, and hats. In his youth Ted enjoyed skating at Skateland, and later enjoyed traveling, and gathering regularly with his friends at Heavenly Donuts.
Ted is survived by his son, Matthew Sanders of Groveland; sisters, Eleanor Brown of Gloucester, Shirley Esty, who was his caregiver, and her husband Howard of Groveland, Margaret Farrington of Franklin, NH; brother, Robert Sanders and his wife Shirley of Sarasota, FL, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his daughter, Rebekah Sanders, and sister, Janice Hanscom.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main Street, Haverhill. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Richard T.
