ARCADIA, Fla. | Jo-Ann R. Bourdelais, 69, of Arcadia, Fla. died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007 in Port Charlotte, Fla.
She was born July 2, 1938 in Lawrence. She moved to Arcadia 20 years ago, and was formerly a resident of Atkinson and Raymond, N.H.
She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, gardening, crafts, the beach, and was a passionate fan of the Boston Red Sox.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Howard L. Bourdelais of Arcadia, Fla.; two sons, Howard Bourdelais Jr. of Lunenburg, and John Bourdelais of Atkinson, N.H.; three daughters, Cheryl Robertson of Effingham, N.H., Cynthia Smith of Portsmouth, N.H., and Sharon Desmettre of Haverhill; one sister, Thelma Bolduc of Clear Springs, Md.; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

HAVERHILL | Wayne A. Bridges, 55, of Haverhill and formerly of Merrimac, died unexpectedly at his home on Sunday morning, Nov. 11, 2007. He was the former husband of Terry (Huft) Bridges.
Born in Amesbury, May 13, 1952, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Barbara R. "Bobbie" (Walsh) Bridges and was a graduate of Pentucket Regional High School, Class of 1970, and then attended two years at Northern Essex Community College.
Wayne was a veteran of Vietnam, serving with the United States Army from March 12, 1971 until his honorable discharge on May 12, 1974.
In addition to his former wife, he is survived by his son, Wayne A. Bridges Jr. and wife Leah of Plaistow, N.H.; three granddaughters, Kristy, Karlina and Dezarae; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Bruce E. Bridges of Merrimac; one sister, Barbara E. Sanborn and husband Albert D. of Merrimac; along with four nephews and three nieces.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services at Paul C. Rogers & Sons Family Funeral Home, 36 West Main St., Merrimac, were Wednesday at 11 a.m. followed by interment in Locust Grove Cemetery, Merrimac. Visiting hours at the funeral home were one hour prior to the services, from 10 to 11 a.m.
Richard T. Curtin, 47
HAVERHILL | Richard T. Curtin, 47, of Haverhill and formerly of North Andover, died on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007 at the Mass. General Hospital in Boston.
Mr. Curtin was born and raised in Charlestown to the late John and Alice (McGonagle) Curtin.
Richard worked as a tax accountant for years at the Fresenius Medical Care.
A sports enthusiast, Richard enjoyed playing softball and was involved with his fantasy football and baseball teams.
He volunteered for many projects for the Knights of Columbus in North Andover but his greatest passion was being a devoted dad to his twins, Conor and Sara.
Mr. Curtin is survived by his loving wife, Sandy D. (Hilbert) Curtin of Haverhill; his twins, Conor and Sara, both at home; his siblings, Evelyn Shields of Melrose, John Curtin of North Easton, Bill Curtin of Bridgewater, Jim Curtin of North Andover, Tom Curtin of Dorchester; and his late sister Pat Kensinger. He was the uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Herbert Dever, 84
NORTH ANDOVER | Herbert Dever, 84, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007 at Prescott House in North Andover following a long illness.
He was born in Boston, Jan. 23, 1923 son of Michael and Helen (Moore) Dever. He was educated in Charlestown, and served in the U. S. Army during World War II and had been a resident of Haverhill since 1980. Mr. Dever was employed as a carpenter at General Electric and the Flately Co. He was a grateful member of Alcoholic's Anonymous.
He was the husband of the late Shirley (Walker) Dever. He is survived by five children, Diane Dever of Haverhill, Penny Meagher and her husband Bob of Haverhill, Steven Dever and his wife Maureen of Saugus, Mark Dever of Haverhill, David Dever and his wife Leona of Haverhill; a son-in-law, John Blaney of Saugus; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Susan Blaney.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services were Saturday morning at 8 a.m. at the Scatamacchia Funeral Home, 358 Washington St., followed by services at the funeral home at 9 a.m. Burial were in Elmwood Cemetery Bradford. John J. Driscoll, 77
HAVERHILL | John J. Driscoll, 77, a lifelong resident of Haverhill passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, Nov. 10, 2007 at Whittier Rehab Hospital surrounded by his family.
He was born in Haverhill on Oct. 16, 1930, son of the late Timothy J. and Helen (Ring) Driscoll.
He graduated from St. James High School, Class of 1949 and was and Army veteran of the Korean War serving for four years as Sergeant First Class. After returning from the war, John attended a radio and television technology institute in Boston.
Mr. Driscoll was employed at Lucent Technologies for over 35 years, retiring in 1991. He was also the owner and operator of J&F; Cleaning Co. in Haverhill for 30 years.
He was instrumental in founding and organizing the creation of the Korean War Veteran Memorial in GAR Park in Haverhill. He was a member of All Saints Parish, VFW, DAV, and the CWA Union Local 1366.
He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather that will be sadly missed by all.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mrs. Joan E. (Crowley) Driscoll; his six children, Timothy J. and his wife Suzanne of Haverhill, Susan K. and her husband Thomas Hallworth of E. Hampstead, N.H., Kathleen A. and her husband Raymond Richard of Newton, N.H., Colleen E. Driscoll and her fiancee Michael McLaughlin of Beverly, Michael P. and his wife Christine of Plaistow and Daniel J. and his wife Kristine of Plaistow; 17 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was the brother of the late James F. Driscoll, and best friend of the late Paul "Sonny" Millette.

MERRIMACK, N.H. | Eftehia Gakis, 66, of Merrimack, N.H., formerly of Haverhill, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2007 at St. Joseph Hospital of Nashua after a long battle with cancer.
She was born May 19, 1941 in Eperos, Greece and was the daughter of Spyros and Paraskave (Tsiages) Pardales.
She immigrated to the U.S. in 1966, and lived in Haverhill prior to moving to Merrimack seven years ago.
Mrs. Gakis was a restaurateur, and along with her husband operated Romeo's Restaurant first in Exeter, N.H., then in Lawrence for many years. She also assisted her sons in opening Mr. G's Restaurant in Merrimack. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and cherished the time she spent with her family.
Members of the family include her husband of 43 years, Nikiforos Gakis of Merrimack; two sons, Pavlos and Vasilios Gakis, both of Merrimack; three grandchildren, Dakota, Sianna and Nikiforos Gakis, also all of Merrimack; two bothers and sisters-in-law, George and Evgenia Pardales of Greece, and Thanasis and Antigoni Pardales of Groveland; one sister and brother-in-law, Katina and Ioannis Papageorgio of Groveland; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

HAVERHILL | Lorraine L. (White) Lane, 80, of 180 Water St., died early Wednesday morning, Nov. 7, 2007, at her home, surrounded by her loving family and following a long illness.
Formerly of Pine Avenue and Singing Wood Drive, in Haverhill and West Main Street, in Merrimac, Mrs. Lane was born in Haverhill on July 7, 1927, daughter of the late Leon White and Beatrice (Graham) (White) Cuneen. She graduated from Saint Joseph Grammar School and Haverhill High School.
A housewife and homemaker for most of her life, Mrs. Lane was formerly employed in the cafeteria of Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School.
She was a member of All Saints Parish of Haverhill and the former Saint Joseph Parish and enjoyed sewing, crocheting and reading.
She was the wife of John J. Lane, who died in 1963, and is survived by four sons, John J. Lane Jr. and his wife Suzanne of Danville, N.H., Stephen P. Lane of Danville, Robert M. Patuto and his wife Amy of Sandpoint, Idaho and Scott D. Patuto of East Parsonsfield, Maine; three daughters and sons-in-law, Carol L. and James Lefebvre of Methuen, Susan M. and William Marro of Cottonwood, Ariz. and Kathleen A, and Kevin Sullivan of Sandown, N.H.; a brother, John Cuneen of Haverhill; a sister, Doris Comeau of Haverhill; also seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Robert White and a sister, Irene Flanagan.

Janice E. Hansen Lavoie, 77
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. | Janice Elizabeth Hansen Lavoie, 77, of Virginia Beach, Va., passed away Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007.
A native of Haverhill, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Ida Hansen and the widow of Joseph L. N. Lavoie Jr. She was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and the Sentra Exercise Group.
She is survived by two daughters, Rose Marie Angerer and husband Vernon of Carlise, Ohio and Brenda LaHorner and husband Michael of Virginia Beach; a son, Paul Lavoie of Virginia Beach; and two brothers, Robert Hansen and wife Betty and James Hansen and wife Anne, all of Haverhill. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Marc Angerer and wife Kristen of North Carolina, Nicholas Angerer and wife Jen of Ohio, Eric Angerer and wife Heather of Ohio, James Lavoie of California, Michelle Lavoie, Shana LaHorner and Seth LaHorner, all of Virginia Beach; two great-grandchildren, Jamesha Lavoie of California and Chloe Angerer of Ohio; and six other remaining sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law and many friends.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Mass of the Resurrection was conducted Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Nicholas Catholic Church with Fr. Barton officiating. The burial followed in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. EXETER, N.H. | Nancy T. (McCarthy) Lewis, 76, of Exeter, N.H., died Sunday morning, Nov. 11, 2007 at her home, following a long illness.
Born in Everett, daughter of the late Lawrence and Elizabeth (Malsbenden) McCarthy, she was raised in Everett and Chelsea and attended Chelsea High School.
A longtime resident of Chelsea, Mrs. Lewis moved to Danville, N.H. where she was a resident for many years before moving to Plaistow for a brief time and then to Exeter ten years ago.
She worked as a customer service representative for over ten years for Wal-Mart and had previously been employed in the cafeteria at Lucent Technologies for several years.
A member of Saint Michael's Parish of Exeter, Mrs. Lewis enjoyed classical music, knitting, traveling and visiting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and never missed her favorite game shows.
Survivors include her husband, William M. Lewis; two sons, William R. Lewis of Nahant, and Robert C. Lewis and his wife Atsuko of Waltham; two daughters, Katherine J. Jordan and her husband Paul of Haverhill and Joanne C. Lewis of Malden; three brothers, William McCarthy of Wakefield, Leo McCarthy of Hudson, N.H., and Lawrence McCarthy of Reading; a sister, Mary Babine of Peabody; also 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her daughter, Debra (Lewis) (DeNisco) Cullinine in 2002.

An avid reader, she also enjoyed needlework and Genealogy. She had traced the Perrault Family back to the 1600s in Quebec. She was a member of St. Rocco's Roman Catholic Church, Martins Creek, PA. She volunteered for many years at the North Reading Theatre Workshop, Reading, MA, working behind the scenes during many performances. Surviving are sister, Jean, with whom she resided; brother, Raymond, and his wife, Charlene, Lakeport, CA; sister-in-law, Eileen Perreault, Dingman's Ferry, PA; nephews, Michael and his wife Jennifer, Adam and his wife Jennifer, and Ryanand his wife, Yinette; nieces, Chrissy Ballester and her husband Jaime, and Robynn Geise and her husband Byron; eight grandnieces and grandnephews.
