HAVERHILL,MA — Fred "Fort" Montisanti, Sr., 96, died Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at Merrimack Valley Hospital. He was born in Haverhill, April 12, 1916 son of Antonio and Mary (Palentano) Montisanti. He was a member of All Saints Parish, and was very active at the Haverhill Citizens Center. He formerly owned the Depot Grill, and was head groundskeeper at the Haverhill Stadium. He was the husband of the late Mary (Goulet) Montisanti. He is survived by two sons Fred Montisanti, Jr. and his wife Joyce of Sandown, N.H., Anthony Montisanti of Salisbury; a daughter Rona Cookson of Haverhill; a brother Anthony Monitsanti of Haverhill. Grandchildren Stacey Kirkham and Lynn Sullivan of Haverhill; Lauren Montisanti, and Jeffrey Montisanti of Salisbury; Jay Montisanti and Steven Allen of Atkinson, Jamie Montisanti of Dracut, and Brian Allen of Newton, N.H.; great-grandchildren Nicholas and Matthew Kirkham of Haverhill; Kayla, Ryan, Megan and Brenna Sullivan of Haverhill; Adam and Alyssa Montisanti of Salisbury; Ashlyn and Violet Montisanti of Dracut; Heather Brooks, and Brandon Allen of Atkinson; Sarah and Jason Allen of Newton, NH. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Also his former daughter-in-law Joyce (Talerico ) Montisanti of Salisbury; his companion Barbara Bartlett. He was also grandfather of the late Gary Allen.
