Englewood, FL — Nicholas G. Albanese, formerly of Amesbury, Mass., died on January 4, 2014. He is survived by his loving family; wife, Virginia (Barnds) Albanese of 46 years; daughter, Lisa A. Albanese and her husband, Paul W. Krueger, of Seattle WA; daughter, Kathleen M. Albanese of South Portland, ME and granddaughter, Ann O. Krueger; brother, Joseph W. Albanese of Revere; favorite baby sister, Beverly A. Balboni of Malden and many amusing nieces and nephews. He was predeceased in death by his sister, Jean E. Cobb.
He was a Marine during the Korean War. He got his MSW from the Univ. of Denver where he met his beloved wife. He was a pioneer in rural mental health in Colorado and had a 25 year career as a social worker in the DSS for abused children in the Merrimack Valley, MA. During his career and after, his philosophy was “Just be nice to people.”
He loved reading, opera, fishing (well mostly just talking about going fishing), and football, especially the Green Bay Packers. Nick will be remembered for his unique tie collection, quirky sense of humor and quick wit.
ARRANGEMENTS: Interment will be at a later date. He will be memorialized by family with lobster feasts across the country.
