Lawrence — Alan M. Schwartz, 57, of Lawrence, died unexpectedly Tuesday morning, June 11.
He was born in Lawrence, April 8, 1956, son of Inez (Davidson) Schwartz of Lawrence and the late William Schwartz.
Educated in the Lawrence school system, Alan graduated from Northfield Mount Herman School, Gill, Mass. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Albion College, Michigan, his Master’s Degree in Library and Archival Science from the University of Michigan and his Master’s Degree in American History from Harvard.
He served in the Navy Reserves and volunteered at Massachusetts General Hospital and the Methuen Animal Care and Adoption Center at Nevins Farm. Besides his mother, his survivors include a sister, Elinor Schwartz and her husband, Bruce Labitt, of Nashua, N.H.; two beloved nieces, Rachael and Alyssa Labitt; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral service was held Sunday, June 16, from the H.L. Farmer & Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 So. Main St., Bradford. Burial followed in Children of Abraham Cemetery, Lawrence.
