Jennifer M. Carr, 32

South Hadley — Jennifer M. Carr, 32, formerly of Manchester-by-the-Sea, died on Wednesday, August 7, 2013, at her home.

Born in Lawrence, Ms. Carr spent her childhood in Maine and Massachusetts. She graduated from Manchester-Essex Regional High School in 1999. She continued her education at University of Maine and North Shore Community College, before graduating from Salem State University and earning a Bachelor of Science in geography and natural resource management.

Jennifer loved children, especially infants, and for many years worked as a day care provider and teacher. Her great love and compassion for animals led her to take a position at the Educated Ferret Association in South Hadley. In her element at last, she earned the trust of the board of directors and recently assumed the position of president.

She is survived by her father, Stephen Carr and his wife, Grace Vasta-Carr of Manchester; her mother, Sandra Wagoner and her husband, John, of Tennessee; brother, Brandon Wagoner and his wife, Shannon, also of Tennessee; grandparents, Robert and Marie Carr of Groveland, and Elaine Leatham of Raymond, N.H.; aunts and uncles, Sarah, Robert Jr. and Paul Carr, Ida Vasta, Bonnie Wagoner; cousins, Michael, David and Jacob Carr; and nephew, Derek Wagoner.

ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral Services will be held at the First Universalist Church, 59 Main St., Essex, Mass., on Thursday, August 15, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours were at the Campbell-Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St., North Beverly, on Wednesday, August 14, from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Manchester-by-the-Sea.
