Haverhill — Andrew M. Williams, 82, of Haverhill, passed away Thursday, December, 13, 2012 at the Wakefield Care & Rehab Center.
He was born in Haverhill on April 16, 1930, son of the late Morill and Carolyn (Thomas) Williams.
Andrew was educated in the Haverhill school system and attended Haverhill High School where he became known as a gifted runner and track star.
After graduating High School, he enlisted in the United States Army and fought valiantly during the Korean War.
Upon his return to the States, Andrew was employed as an office worker, living in New York and New Jersey for a combined 30 years before moving back to Haverhill in the early 90’s.
Andrew loved music and was particularly fond of progressive Jazz. Andrew is survived by two sons, Andrew and Philip Williams both of Brooklyn NY, a sister Natalie Layman of Bradford, MA and a dear friend Gloria Whittaker of Haverhill, MA.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, December 22, at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. Arrangements were by H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Haverhill and Bradford. Condolences to his family may be made at
