Methuen — James (Jim) Derderian of Methuen, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on January 30, 2013. James was born April 17, 1919, in Armenia to Krikor Derderian and Shoushanig Palanjian Derderian and immigrated to the United States at the age of five with his parents and two sisters, Aghavni and Anahid.
Jim's proudest accomplishment in his life was his family. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth; his four children, James and Diane Derderian of Windham, N.H., Bethany and Andre Garabedian of New Hyde Park, N.Y., Alison Derderian of Methuen, and Christian and Julie Derderian of Methuen; six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 2, at 12 p.m. in St. Gregory The Illuminator Armenian Apostolic Church, Haverhill. Burial was in Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill. A visitation period preceded his funeral service on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jim's name to The Armenian Apostolic Church at Hye Pointe, PO Box 8069, Ward Hill, MA 01835, or the Armenian Heritage Foundation, 25 Flanders Road, Belmont, MA 02478.
