AMESBURY — Aline Marie (Guilmette) Dandurant, age 82, lifelong Amesbury resident, died peacefully at her home Sunday afternoon, July 25, 2010, surrounded by her family, whom she loved so dearly.
Born in Amesbury, July 31, 1927, she was one of six children of the late Alexi and Lea (Mercier) Guilmette and attended Sacred Heart School in Amesbury. A devoted wife, wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, caring sister and aunt, Aline loved her family dearly.
She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, always in the midst of making something special, spent many hours tending to her beautiful flower garden, and especially enjoyed her many "fun" trips with family and friends. She was also a longtime member St. Ann's Sodality. Her generous spirit, quiet sense of humor, and caring ways will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her.
Predeceased by her husband, Paul A. Dandurant, who died in 2001, and her son, Dean J. Dandurant who died in 2003, she leaves behind her three daughters, Donna M. Tessimond and husband Earl Jr. of Hampton, N.H.; Pauline A. Daniels and husband Todd H. of Haverhill; Teresa A. Harding and husband Robert W. of Tewksbury; three sons, Michael P. Dandurant of Mesa, Ariz.; Philip R. Dandurant and Mark J. Dandurant, both of Amesbury, and Tim A. Dandurant of Kingston, N.H.; 10 grandchildren, Lynne, Craig, Jennifer, Kelsey, Jeffrey, Robert, Brianna, Keith, Greg and Derek; three great-grandchildren, Isebella, Jack and Madeline; siblings, Roland J. Guilmette; Jeanne M. Poulin and husband Raymond and Madeline M. Bunnell, all of Amesbury; Helen Gaudette and husband Emile of Lawrence and Emile J. Guilmette of Newport Richie, Fla.; along with several generations of nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours at the Highland Chapel of Paul C. Rogers & Sons Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Ave., Amesbury, will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Church of the Holy Family Parish, School Street, Amesbury, followed by interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Amesbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Lawrence St., Bldg. 9, Lawrence, MA 01843; or the Spinal Cord Injury Association, Massachusetts Chapter, 125 Nashua St., Boston, MA 02114.
