Haverhill — Richard B. Kelly, 89, of Haverhill, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 11, at the Wingate of Haverhill.
He was born in Haverhill, January 15, 1925, son of the late James and Marry (Lavalle) Kelly.
Richard was educated in the St. James school system and graduated from St. James High School. After graduation, he enlisted into the Army and served in the Korean War. He was wounded during the war and was awarded a Purple Heart.
After being honorably discharged, Richard was employed at Western Electric as an assembler until his retirement.
Richard was predeceased by his siblings, James, Paul, John and Joseph Kelly, Rita Higgins, Elizabeth Deveau and Catherine Borelli.
He is survived by his special nephew, Robert and his wife, Debra Borelli, of Methuen, who cared for Richard for many years.
His other survivors include a brother, Francis Kelly of Haverhill; as well as several other nieces and nephews.
