Haverhill, MA — Ronald P Jones, Sr. 76, died May 21, 2013, at Anna Jaques Hospital. He was born in Haverhill, April 18, 1937, son of Walter and Gladys (Mercier) Jones. He was educated in Haverhill schools, and served in U. S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member and four-time Commander of the American Legion Unit 4; 40/8; life member of the V.F.W. and the D.A.V; Sons of the American Legion Unit 4; and Past President of the Sachem Order of Red Men of Maine. He was president and founder of the New Rescue 8 CB Club, and life member of REACT. He was a retired school bus driver for Special Needs students for the City of Haverhill. He enjoyed traveling to different states to visit CB clubs.
He is survived by his wife Ella Mae (Duchemin) Jones; daughters, Shirley (Jones) Rutherford, Deborah (Jones) Morley and her husband, Anthony, Christine "Tina" Jones, and Margaret Bacigalupo, all of Haverhill; a son, Stephen Jones and his companion, Lisa, of Salisbury; a brother, Robert G. Jones and his wife, Anne, of Plaistow, N.H. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; aunts; nieces; nephews; many friends; and in-laws. He was predeaceased by sons, Ronald Jones, Jr, and Scott Jones; sisters, Shirley (Jones) Hailson, and Sandra (Jones) LaBelle, and a brother, Walter S. Jones, Jr.
ARRANGEMENTS: Graveside services will be held Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at 10 a.m. in Greenwood Cemetery, East Broadway, Haverhill. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the Paul C. Rogers Family-Scatamacchia Funeral Home, 334 Main St. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald P.
