Weare, NH — Ruth A. (Newell) Huntley, 82 of Weare, NH and former longtime Haverhill resident, died Friday morning, August 17, at Pleasant View Center, Concord, NH.
She was born in Randolph, ME, December 25, 1929 daughter of the late George and Mattie (Rowe) Newell.
Mrs. Huntley’s family moved to Haverhill where she was educated in the Haverhill school system, graduating from Haverhill High School, class of 1948. She was employed as a Manager at the former S&H Green Stamp Store, and, more recently, for Home Health VNA, from where she retired as a Clinical Coordinator. She was an active member of Riverside Assembly of God, Methuen, serving as Sunday School Superintendent and participated in the Senior Link Bible Study, Andover. Mrs. Huntley enjoyed her grandchildren, great grandchildren, flower arranging and walks along the ocean.
Her survivors include her husband Richard W. Huntley, with whom she celebrated her 64th Wedding Anniversary on August 5, a daughter, Ruth Ann Goldthwaite and her husband Paul of Atkinson, NH, two sons, Rev. Richard W. Huntley and his wife Deborah of Bow, NH, Duane Huntley and his wife Phyllis of Concord, NH, seven grandchildren, Shawn, Melissa and Laura Goldthwaite, Kristina A. Mitchell, Sarah Strycharz, Jessica and Matthew Huntley, 11 great grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Ethel Hamilton, Florence Newell, Ruby Noel and brother-in-law Ralph Johnson. Mrs. Huntley was predeceased by her brothers, George, Winfield, Frank and John Newell, Gordon Hamilton and sisters Angie and Martha Suitter.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Funeral Service on Saturday morning, August 25, at 11:30 in the Riverside Assembly of God, 15 Lowell Blvd., Methuen, MA 01844. Mercy meal to follow. Committal will be held on Saturday, Aug. 25 at 3:30 in Greenwood Cemetery, East Broadway, Haverhill. Calling hours will be Friday, Aug. 24, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the H.L.
