Helen L. (Johnston) McEnroe Brigham, 100, of Haverhill and formerly of Reading died Thursday morning, February 9, 2012, at Wingate at Haverhill.
She was born in Saugus, February 26, 1911 daughter of the late William B. and Rhoda (Pulsifer) Johnston. Mrs. Brigham was educated in the Malden school system, graduating from Malden High School, class of 1923.
A professional singer, Mrs. Brigham traveled the East Coast with The Johnny Johnson Band singing under the name of Helen Page. From 1940 to 1973 she resided in Reading and while there was employed as a Hostess for the former Welcome Wagon for over 20 years.
While in Haverhill, she was a member of the Haverhill Women's City Club, Haverhill Arts & Crafts Society and the Haverhill Alliance Church. She was the wife of the late Frank R. McEnroe and Willard E. Brigham.
Her survivors include her two daughters, H. Gail Cesario and her husband Joseph of Englewood, FL, G. Leone Simkins and her husband Bruce of Reading, six grandchildren, Craig Cesario, Joelle Grablewski, Candice George, Loren Caserta, Glen Simkins, Helen Simkins, and nine great grandchildren.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends were respectfully invited to attend the Funeral service on Saturday, February 11, at 11:00 from the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. A visitation period preceded the Funeral service on Saturday morning from 10:00 to 10:45 at the Funeral Home. Burial was in Forest Glen Cemetery, Reading.
