HAVERHILL — Mrs. Frances E. (Archibald) Gray, 94, of Haverhill, died Monday, July 19, 2010 at Penacook Place Nursing Home, Haverhill.
She was born in Haverhill, Oct. 26, 1915 daughter of the late Erwin F. and Ida E. (Thurston) Archibald.
A lifelong resident of the city, Mrs. Gray was educated in the Haverhill school system and graduated from Haverhill High School, Class of 1932. She earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Massachusetts College of Arts in 1936.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Haverhill, Haverhill Women's City Club, Leisure Home Club, Haverhill Arts and Crafts Society, Whittier Club and was a life member of the Haverhill Historical Society.
Mrs. Gray was the wife of the late Harold J. Gray who died in 1995, and her survivors include a son, Edward A. Gray and his wife Nancy of Haverhill; a daughter, Marilyn F. Hoyle of Upland, Calif.; grandchildren, Sharon Hoyle, Scott Hoyle, Lisa Sollars, Karin and her husband Dan Lessard, and Jessica and her husband Robert Dunford; five great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Pauline M. Hinds and Evelyn Dunlap.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service on Friday, July 23 at 6 p.m. at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. Calling hours will precede the service on Friday from 4 to 5:45 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in the Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill.
