Concord, N.H. — Mary Virginia Dwelley, of Concord, N.H. died September 29, 2012.
Mary was born in Haverhill, daughter of Charles and Virginia Sweester of South Groveland, and she graduated from Groveland High School. She was married to Joseph H. Dwelley for 63 years and spent 21 ½ years as a loving dedicated Army wife. Joseph preceded her in death in December 2010.
After Joe’s retirement from the Army, Mary began a career as Purchasing Manager for Sprague Electric Company in Concord, Purchasing Manager for the Richard Brew Company, and the establishment of the first Purchasing Department for Merrimack County.
Mary was a communicant at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, past Director of Religious Education of the children and a member of the Cursillo movement in the Diocese of New Hampshire; she was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Mary was active in Community Affairs and a life member of the Community Players of Concord.
Mary leaves her brother, Francis, of New York; her sisters, Margaret and Barbara from Massachusetts and Mildred from Calif.; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sons Joseph and Robert.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visitation hours are from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at the Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. Main Street, Concord, N.H.
A mass of celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 3, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 180 Loudon Road, Concord. Burial will take place at a later date at the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, N.H.
