Haverhill — Mildred R. (Freedman) Karelitz, 86, formerly of Haverhill passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at the Rockingham County Nursing Home in Brentwood, NH.
She was born in Chelsea, MA on April 30, 1926, daughter of the late Isaac and Bertha (Karsoff) Freedman. Millie attended Newton High School and graduated from Mount Ida College and Leland Powers School of Dramatics. She was a devoted mother and wife, who is best described as a woman of grace and elegance. Millie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was the wife of the late Martin H. Karelitz, who died in 1999 and is survived by her son Dr. Robert S. Karelitz and his wife Ellen of Durham, NH, her daughter JoAnn and her husband Edward Beauregard of Greenland, NH, her grandchildren Alison and Matthew Beauregard, Sam and Emily Karelitz, as well as several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: At the request of the family, graveside services were held privately in the Children of Israel Cemetery, Haverhill. There will be no memorial period. Arrangements are by the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Homes, Haverhill and Bradford. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Rockingham County Nursing Home Resident Activities Fund, 117 North Rd.
