Haverhill — Geneva H. (Thompson) Stone, 97, of Haverhill, died on Friday morning, April 11, at Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill.
She was born in Haverhill on November 21, 1916, and was the daughter of the late Earl H. and Geneva (Fletcher) Thompson.
Educated in the Haverhill School System, Mrs. Stone graduated from Haverhill High school, Class of 1933.
For over 38 years, she was employed at the former Western Electric, where she retired from in 1983. Prior to this, Mrs. Stone was employed as a clerk at the former Parks Snow Department Store, Haverhill.
She was a member of the Haverhill Women’s City Club, The Whittier Club, and a longtime member of the Grace United Methodist Church, Haverhill, now Good Shepherd United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Stone was the wife of the late Porter Howard Stone, who died in 1985. Her survivors include her first cousins, James H. Boynton of Georgetown, Dr. Willard H. Boynton of Florida and Maine. She is also survived by numerous second cousins and their families; as well as many close friends, who helped care for her.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service on Thursday, April 17, at 12 p.m., at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. Calling hours will precede the funeral service, from 10 to 11:45 a.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Plaistow, N.H.
