Haverhill — Virginia A. (Small) Shelton, 67, of Haverhill, passed away Thursday, April 24, at the Oxford in Haverhill.
She was born in Salem, Mass. on Aug. 31, 1946, daughter to Leonard and Edna (Bell) Small. Virginia was educated in Peabody and was employed for many years in the North Shore area as a certified nursing assistant. She enjoyed spending time with her family, making quilts and blankets and was an avid reader.
She was the wife of the late Gary W. Shelton, who passed away in 2007 and sister of the late Stephen A. Small. Virginia is survived by her daughter, Ruth E. and her husband, Paul K. Freitas; grandchildren, Eric P., Cassandra N. and Jake S. Freitas, all of Haverhill; sister-in-law, Maureen Small of Campton, N.H., as well as nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her memorial service on Saturday, May 3, at 12 p.m. at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. Visitation will precede the service from 11 to 11:45 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be private in the Oak Grove Cemetery, West Peabody. Arrangements are by H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Haverhill.
