Shapleigh, Maine — Paul D. Brindle, Jr., 71, of Shapleigh, died on Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at the Maine Veterans Home in Scarborough.
Paul was born in New Britain, Conn., on March 19, 1942, to Paul and Rita (Dupont) Brindle. He grew up in Haverhill, Mass., and attended local schools, graduating from Sanborn Seminary High School. Following high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, proudly serving for 20 years.
Paul enjoyed going fishing, boating, tinkering with anything mechanical and doing home improvements and renovations. Paul was a perfectionist in anything that he did and always had a keen eye for details. He was an animal lover and was particularly fond of his dog, Ruffles. Paul will be remembered as a hard working man who took pride in providing for his family and will be dearly missed.
Paul was predeceased by two siblings, Jean Simons and Charles “Chuckie” Brindle.
Surviving are two children, James Brindle and his wife, Diane E., of Merrimac, Mass., and Denise Brindle of Brookfield, Mass.; three grandchildren, Benjamin and Samuel Brindle of Merrimac, Mass., and Shea Lawrie of Brookfield, Mass.; a sister, Judy A. Brindle of Haverhill, Mass.; his niece, Kelly Simons and nephew, Bobby Simons of Groveland, Mass.; and his former spouse, Vickie Brindle of Merrimac, Mass.
ARRANGEMENTS: Services were held in Maine on June 17. Burial was in the Southern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Springvale, Maine.
