Haverhill — Mildred E. (Bacigalupo) Lelis, 90, formerly of Haverhill died Friday, January 11, at Winchester Nursing Center, Winchester. She was born in Boston, May 18, 1922, daughter of the late Frederick and Edith (Hayes) Bacigalupo. Educated in the Haverhill school system, Mrs. Lelis was employed as a Fancy Stitcher for the former Allen Shoe. She was a member of the former St. George’s Church, Haverhill, had a wonderful sense of humor and loved both life and the beach. In her retirement she and her husband traveled the country attending military reunions and taking short trips offered by the Senior Center.
Her survivors include her husband of 70 years, Anthony M. Lelis of Winchester, a daughter, Patricia A. Lippitt of Reading, a sister, Ruth Stewart of Bristol, NH and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Lelis was the mother of the late Toni Lelis and sister of the late John Bacigalupo, Lillian Emery, Mable Beeman, Florence Burns, William Bassie, and Frederick Bacigalupo Jr.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services were held January 14th, at H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. Burial was in the Lithuanian Cemetery, Bradford.
