Hampton, NH — Maxine June (Wilson) Delisle, of Hampton, N.H., former longtime resident of Haverhill, died peacefully on Saturday afternoon, November 23, 2013, after a long illness.
Born in Haverhill, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Emma (Fox) Wilson. She was a graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1942.
In addition to raising four children, she enjoyed a long career as an executive secretary at the Family Bank in Haverhill. After her retirement, she fulfilled a lifelong dream to live close to the ocean when they moved to Hampton. She was a fantastic cook and loved entertaining. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and had a special, loving relationship with each of them.
She is survived by her husband, Norman M. Delisle; four children, Anne P. Dorman of Austin, Texas, Norman M. Delisle Jr. and wife, Heidi, of Manchester, Judy L. Lavoie and husband, Richard, of Tellico Plains, Tenn., and Jean A. Mattar and husband, Wade, of Wrentham; seven grandchildren, Luke, Eric, Kevin, Elizabeth, Russell, Wade, and Molly; and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister, Florence Leonardi; and her brother, Roger Wilson.
ARRANGEMENTS: An hour of visitation was held on Tuesday, November 26, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the Paul C. Rogers-Scatamacchia Funeral Home, 334 Main Street, Haverhill, followed by a funeral Mass at Sacred Hearts Church, South Main Street, Bradford, at 12:30 p.m. Interment in Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill, will be private for the family.
